Review

During the Review phase, partners revisit and examine together the key features of each phase of the Classroom Action Research process. For each of these phases, they consider what changes they would make the next time. This is an opportunity to discuss and share concrete examples of their successes and their challenges throughout their collaboration.

During the Review phase, you revisit and examine together the key features of each phase of the Classroom Action Research process. For each of these phases, consider what changes you would make or what you would do differently the next time. This is an opportunity to be specific and provide concrete examples of what worked well and what did not work as well.

  • Consider the following questions to guide your discussion:
    • What changes would you make:
    • to the way you wrote your common goal?
    • to the way you planned?
    • to the way you analyzed the information gathered?
    • to the way you reflected?

Once you have examined the key components for each of the phases, you review the overall impact of your collaboration and the decisions made with your partner. You may also discuss with your partner any moments of insight you had about your collaboration throughout the process.

Think about how different it was working with a partner while considering:

  • your students’ learning
  • your professional practice
  • your time management

The information revealed during this phase will help you enhance your future collaborations. Consider sharing it with a larger community, such as cycle teams, school staff, principal, consultants, and Professional Learning Committees.
